How It Works

Whitening Consultation
The dentist will carry out a full examination to check your teeth are suitable for whitening and do a 3D scan of to record your current shade of your teeth
Fitting Appointment
Your kit will take up to 10 working days to be manufactured by Enlighten and sent to us. We will get you back in so the dentist can check that your trays fit and take you through your kit
Your Enlighten Kit
Your kit includes your precision made whitening trays, 2 whitening gels and de-sensitising toothpaste, serum and swabs to help with teeth sensitivity during the treatment
2 Week Treatment
Start using the toothpaste before starting with the gels to prepare your teeth. Use the directed amount of gel (10% gel in week one and 16% gel in week two) every night for two weeks
Whitening Review
Once you have finished your gels (it may be more than 2 weeks if you skipped days), we invite you back into the clinic for the dentist to check the results. If you have not reached a 'B1' shade, we will give you more gels to continue the treatment until you do achieve that 'B1' shade

Our Enlighten Dentists

  • Dr. David Tissera

    David qualified from King's College School of Medicine & Dentistry London in 1997. He continued his postgraduate education in the maxillofacial/oral surgery, and paediatric departments at London's King's College and St. George's hospital. He has also worked as a hospital honorary clinician in restorative dentistry, where he routinely dealt with complex cases and anxious patients referred by other dentists and brings this expertise to his own patients.


    He is a highly experienced dental surgeon, who has been in private practice for almost eighteen years. He has a special interest in advanced cosmetic and implant dentistry, performing smile makeovers and accepting referrals for root canal retreatments. He is an experienced practitioner of adult aesthetic orthodontics for many systems including Invisalign.


    He believes in providing the highest quality dental care using state of the art technology and is continuously adding to his skill set by attending postgraduate courses.


    He is a member of both the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) and European Society of Aesthetic Orthodontics (ESAO).


    Being an articulate and calming person has enabled David to grow a loyal patient base over the years based almost solely on personal recommendation.


    When not involved in all things dental, he enjoys spending time with his family and indulges in his hobby of photography and enjoys cooking.

  • Dr. Yovaan Illangakoon

    Yovaan’s key philosophy in Dentistry is to use minimally invasive techniques to deliver a confident smile.


    Yovaan graduated from Kings College, London in 2008 with a BSc (Hon.) in Biomedical Science. He then went on to study Dentistry at the University of Liverpool. Following this he obtained a PGCert in Primary care Dentistry.


    Yovaan has a particular interest in aesthetic restorative dentistry and has undertaken several advanced courses to fine tune his skills. He has completed the full range Dr. Vasant’s aesthetic courses, showing his passion to deliver cutting edge dentistry. He is currently working towards his PGDiploma in aesthetic restorative dentistry. Yovaan’s personality makes patients feel relaxed and eases their anxieties.


    In order to ethically create beautiful smiles, Yovaan uses the latest digital treatments to straighten, whiten and contour your teeth. In order to achieve this, he uses short term cosmetic braces like Invisalign, smile makeovers with porcelain or composite veneers and dental implants to restore missing teeth. He is able to therefore provide a holistic treatment plan, tailor made for you. 


    In his spare time, Yovaan likes to keep fit, play golf, cricket and watch football. He enjoys walks in the countryside with his wife & dog, Pierre.

  • Dr. Ilaria Mestroni

    Dr Ilaria qualified with a first-class degree from Padua University School of Medicine and dentistry in 2002.


    For 12 years she worked as a senior partner at the busy three generations family practice, and to date, she has more than 17 years of experience in private dentistry.


    She completed an MSc course at the cranio maxillo-facial department in implant rehabilitation of severe maxillary bones' atrophies in this, as well as numerous other postgraduate courses in various disciplines of dentistry.


    She had the opportunity to join the ENT team alongside surgical treatments of the face and neck.


    She is very well known between her patients for her gentle approach and the capacity to put even the nervous ones at ease.


    She has attended various courses covering all the aspects of dentistry from aesthetic fillings to prosthodontics, implant related treatments and the periodontal field.


    She has a particular attention to follow the GDC guidelines for all the CPD courses.


    In 2014 she moved to London with her family and is excited to begin a new exciting work challenge.
